LETTERS TO GOD

    LETTERS TO GOD

Something is exciting about letters. I can not be able to bring out the full ecstasy that comes with letters, but one thing I know is that this generation is missing a lot because it finds writing letters a very outdated activity. Whereas it is the epitome of static skill development. Oh yes, I said skill, a skill like that of writing, and also the skill to memorize vibes and vocabulary, hahaha, it is a skill too, don't you think?

A very close friend of mine once recommended a movie to me the moment she realized that I love writing letters to God, and the name of the movie was exactly what I just mentioned, yes, you got it right!"Letters to God." The highlight of the movie was when this little boy who was sick never gave up writing his prayer requests to God in the form of letters and believed that God read them. I don't want to tell you whether or not the boy survived, but the letters he used to write were very significant in his ailing journey. I will suggest you look for the movie and watch it. Thank me later. If you have already watched it kindly comment on your best scene of the movie in the comment sector below.

I have been writing letters since high school. Hey!hey!hey! I am sorry, not what you think, have never sent any guy a letter, so I am still safe, haha. Yes, I have a file full of letters which I wrote since time began, oh sorry, since I was sixteen. I have written letters to my future husband and there is one which I will give to him on the night of our wedding before the main thing, you know what I mean*insert your favorite emoji*.

I also have letters for my children and grandchildren, sounds funny right? But it's true. It gives me the joy to create the world I want by putting it down in the form of prayer so that when it happens I will not forget that I had earlier prayed for them. It is a shred of good evidence to team Thomas, the doubting ones you know! You have to show them the date in which you wrote the prayer item and the date the prayer was answered just in case they say it was by luck. But wait! It's not about them but about you.

What is it about writing?
Writing puts a stamp on paper on things that you want to be done and God doesn't take writing lightly. Let's take a look at Habakkuk 2:2 "Then the Lord replied, write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it." In my few years of writing letters to God, I must confess that he really reads them. I don't know how he does, but I know there is nothing he can't do, he is beyond what we think of him. Some of the requests I made to him through letters are now answered. The visions I had in high school and wrote them down are soon drawing near to fulfillment. I once envisioned myself pursuing law while I was still in form 1, I wrote to God that I wanted to become a children's advocate and now it's about to happen. To be honest, I have never prayed verbally about my career, I usually write it down, and that has been part of my experiment that He reads letters and if put to a scale of 100, the results are 80% this far.

Every time I feel like some prayers are being delayed, I retrieve my letters and go through them. By going through them, I find hope. I know your question right now is how? Well, While going through them, there is a very high possibility that I will come across a letter or two which I wrote to thank Him for the answered prayers. That will give me hope and strength to continue trusting the same God who answered the then prayers. Hope never disappoints and it will never disappoint if it is mixed with a very healthy recipe of Faith.

This post is not trying to lure you into writing, the essence of it is to create awareness to you on how important it is to put down what you hear from God, see as visions and also dreams. If you also think it is a good idea why don't you try it next year? Write down all the promises in the Bible and learn to decree them. Write down your visions and make them plain, and don't just do that, you have to run with those visions.

Selah!
